Winter Skin Care Routine: A First Step for Healthy Skin

winter-skin-care-routineAs winter comes skin becomes patchy and rough. Cold and dry air removes moisturizer from skin and leave it dry and rash. It can cause various serious skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema etc.
You really take care of skin in winter and invest more  because skin represents you for a long time. 
In this article we will discuss skin care routines that you especially follow in winter:

1.) Don’t get dehydrated

As air is dry in winter how your body can save from dryness. Its simple solution is keep you hydrated whole day. Our body gets hydrated from water, So drink plenty of water. This will keep you hydrated and you will not feel thirst. Rather than drinking water you can intake foods. As food counts 20 to 30 percent of water intake. Eat water enriched fruits and vegetables like water lemon, orange, strawberries, cucumber etc.

2.) Cleanse Skin Regularly

Cleansing is the first skin care routine step. Cleansers make skin hydrated in winter. But it is recommended to use cleanser with lukewarm water. Don’t use hot water.
If your skin is dry then cleanse your face once in a day. 
 3.) Exfoliate Skin 

Exfoliation helps in removal of dead skin cells from the outer surface of skin. Don’t stuck to too much exfoliation in winter because skin’s outer layer is sensitive during winter.

Exfoliation is done by physical or mechanical means and depends on skin types like dry, oily or combination of both. Do exfoliation once in a week. If your skin is dry then don’t perform it.

4.) Apply Moisturizer Gently

Moisturizer makes your skin healthier and prevents dryness, rashes and cold burns. Apply moisturizer twice in a day after cleansing is good.
There are various lotions that moisturize your skin but it is better to adhere natural moisturizer like aloe vera, coconut oil, papaya, yogurt etc.
Don’t forget to apply moisturizer at night before going to bed. As moisturizer mask will stay overnight without any cold air, dust disturbance and skin will get hydrated.

5.) Take Care of Lips

If lips care is not properly taken during winter then lips become dry and dehydrated in winter. Follow these steps
  • First exfoliate your lips with brush to remove dead skin. But avoid brushing when they are cracked.
  • Apply lip balm when you feel lips are becoming dry.
  • Don’t lick your lips
  • Cure cracks rightly
  •  Apply lip balms before going to bed.

6.) Follow Skin Routine Regularly

As i demonstrated before what to follow or what to not in winter for skin, now i will explain shortly a skin routine. First in morning cleanse your face containing moisturizer and then apply moisturizing cream on face. Cleanse before going to bed is mandatory and then cover your face with heavy moisturizer.
